Today, we’re excited to share a meaningful next step: AP and SAT-aligned assignment templates are now available in the Essay Assignments Library.

Practice with real prompts that matter

Students can now write in response to authentic, past College Board prompts, helping them prepare for the kinds of tasks they’ll actually see on high-stakes assessments.

  • AP English (Literature & Language): Non-stimulus-based Free Response Questions (FRQs)
  • AP U.S. History, AP World History, and AP European History: Long Essay Question (LEQ) prompts
  • AP U.S. Government: Argument essay prompts
  • SAT Essay: Official practice prompts

These College Board prompts are the same types of prompts students encounter on real exams—now paired with Writing Coach’s guided support and feedback.

Familiar formats, better support

Because these assignments mirror real exam expectations, students can build confidence with the structure, pacing, and rigor required while getting immediate, targeted feedback to improve their writing.

Teachers can easily assign these prompts and spend less time sourcing materials while still ensuring students are practicing with high-quality, exam-aligned content.

A quick note on the SAT Essay

The SAT Essay is only offered in certain states as part of SAT School Day. If students are unsure whether they’ll take the SAT Essay, they should check with their school counselor.

Where authentic practice meets meaningful feedback

With the addition of AP and SAT prompts, Writing Coach continues to bring together authentic practice and meaningful feedback so students can focus on what matters most: becoming stronger, more confident writers.
