The app accepts both Stremio add-ons and its own Plugin system that scrapes provider repositories for direct HD links. Your free dashboard on Nuvio’s website lets you manage everything from a browser and sync it to your Fire TV, Android TV box, or phone instantly.

3. Kodi
Kodi is still one of the most popular choices when it comes to free movies, Shows, documentaries, adult content, and more. Some people don’t refer to this app as an APK because you need to install additional 3rd party addons to get the free content. (Or a Kodi Build if you prefer)
Kodi is free and does not contain any advertisements within the application.
Kodi is not available in the Amazon App Store which means users must sideload the application on Firestick and Fire TV devices. Installing Kodi is simple on most Android-based systems. 4. STRMR
Brand new to our list of Best APKs, STRMR is a full fledged application that combines the power of debrid providers and Stremio Addons to serve up VOD content.
With a polished user interface and personal dashboard, you can easily configure the APK to suit your streaming needs for any device including Firestick/Fire TV which was previously incomaptible.
One “flaw” with STRMR is that a Google sign in is needed to access the app, however, users can easily setup a secondary account with anonymous information to bypass this requirement.

5. Syncler
Syncler works similarly to Kodi or Stremio in the sense that you must install outside providers/addons to access the content. Although this app does require, TorBox, Premiumize, Real-Debrid, or other unrestricted downloading service for use, this means that there will be no lag during playback. Users will also have access to high quality 4K and 1080p streams.
Just like Stremio, users have the ability to sign-in which means that everything syncs across multiple devices.

Cord cutters chase the next free movie APK every few weeks. The links break, the app stops opening, or Amazon blocks it on Fire TV, and then the cycle starts again.
That’s the problem with these ‘crap apps’ like BeeTV, FilmPlus, Flix Vision, Movie HD, and the dozens of others. There’s unreliable development, security risks, annoying ads, broken streaming links, and hours wasted hunting down a working APK file every time something breaks.

Below are some of the other free APKs you’ll see floating around the cord-cutting community. Most fall into the “crap app” category we just covered, but we’re including them so you know what they are when you see them recommended elsewhere.
OnStream
OnStream is an APK for viewing Movies and TV Shows in high definition. Unlike most options on this list, OnStream features auto-play capabilities which is perfect for those who hate sorting through various link and source options.
These links play extremely fast and are usually in HD quality including 1080p. For those interested, there is a sign-up with email option, however, we are unsure of the benefits that this feature provides. OnStream on Firestick/Android Box
Flix Vision
Flix Vision tries to be an all-in-one option for Movies, Shows, and Live content. It pulls free links directly from public sources and supports debrid integration for users who already have a subscription.
The bigger issue is reliability. Free links break often, ads have crept back in over the past year, and Amazon is actively blocking it on Fire TV devices. If you’ve been relying on Flix Vision, this is a good time to switch to one of the top five.

BeeTV
BeeTV has been one of the most cloned apps in the cord-cutting space. The version most people install today is a fork of a fork, with no clear developer behind it and no real roadmap.
Ads are heavy, malware reports pop up regularly, and Amazon is currently blocking it on Fire TV. Some Insiders still use it on Android boxes paired with a debrid service, but for most people Stremio is the smarter swap.

FilmPlus
FilmPlus is another Terrarium TV fork that’s been passed around for years. It still loads links in some setups, but ads are constant and Amazon is blocking it on Fire TV alongside the rest of this group.
The familiar interface is the only thing keeping it on most “best of” roundups. Free links are unreliable without a debrid service connected, and at that point Stremio or Nuvio will give you a far better experience.

Streamflix
If you have ever heard of SFlix, the free movie website, you may be interested in checking out Streamflix that looks to be from the same developers.
Unlike other options on our list of Best APKs, Streamflix offers different provider sources to choose from so you don’t have to locate these and can simply select one of the choices provided.
One of the biggest features available is the auto play capabilities that are built right in so you won’t have to guess when choosing a link and your playback will begin immediately. This one is definitely worth giving a shot!

Cinema HQ
Cinema HQ is a newer entry that’s been getting attention as a Cinema HD replacement. The developers do push regular updates and keep an open change log.
That said, free links buffer often and the app sits in the same legal gray zone as the others in this section. It’s a step above abandoned forks but still not something we’d recommend over Stremio or Nuvio.

Movie HD
Movie HD has been around for years and is popular among the cord-cutting community. It requires installing a separate AMPlayer companion app before any content will play, which adds friction most people won’t put up with.
A VirusTotal scan flagged malicious files inside this app. Free links also buffer heavily and there is no option to integrate a debrid service.

Debrid Stream
Debrid Stream is a premium selection that requires a “Pro” Membership in order to find streams. You must also have a subscription to a debrid service as well.
Currently, this feature costs $2.49/month or $21.39/year and this high price is why we don’t recommend it. Remember, you can get Stremio for free so why in the world would you pay for this!
Similar to Stremio, addons must be integrated within your user panel and this is where the real power of Debrid Stream comes from.

Weyd
Weyd is similar to Syncler in that you must use one of the popular debrid services for it to function properly.
Many people like Weyd due to it’s minimalist user interface and ease of use. Once everything is setup, it just works.
One major feature that is missing from Weyd is the ability to sign-in which both Stremio and Syncler have. We like the sign-in option so users can sync everything across all devices.

Viva TV
Viva is another well-known VOD platform that has been around for quite some time. Currently, it is working fabulously with tons of HD links including 1080p and 4k. Real-debrid and trakt capabilities are both available as well as subtitles, an external player, and more. Viva also has a unique interface that is sure to please cord-cutters of all types.
There are various categories that help filter your content options and navigation is extremely simple on both Firestick devices as well as Android/Google TV Boxes.

Ocean Streamz
Ocean Streamz is one of the newer app on this list that provides movies, shows, and live channels. That’s right, besides VOD Content, Ocean Streamz also has live TV options which we do not see with many other choices in this list.
However, those using it for Video on Demand oftentimes pair this with a cloud source and Trakt within the settings. The best parts about Ocean Streamz include its friendly user-interface, simple navigation, categories, and more. After making a content selection, there are tons of links available in high definition.

SStream APK
Another fresh option to hit the cord cutting scene is SStream for viewing Movies and Shows in high definition. We would compare this one to FilmPlus due to its simplicity as there are not as many features provided as you might see with other platforms.
Users can add an external video player including MX Player which we show how to do in our set up guide. There are free links but as with any other application, we recommend integrating a premium resolving service for best results.

This app works especially well when integrating MX Player, as their default media player is not the best.
