Starlink is a satellite internet provider from SpaceX that offers high speed satellite internet around the world, including in remote and rural locations where connectivity has previously been unreliable or completely unavailable. Starlink has over 7,800 satellites in orbit, which the company says means “benefit from uninterrupted service and high-quality reliability, speed and coverage.”
The Standard Kit includes everything you need to set up Starlink and get connected.
Here’s what you get in the kit:
- Standard Starlink
- Kickstand
- Gen 3 Router
- Gen 3 Starlink Cable (15 m or 49.2 ft)
- AC Power Cable (1.5 m or 4.92 ft)
- Power Supply Unit
When you receive your kit, Starlink offers easy step-by-step instructions to set up your equipment and get connected to the satellites that will give you internet access.
To qualify for the free kit, you’ll need to sign up for a Residential plan. Here’s how Starlink describes the plan: Starlink Residential is for personal or household-use at a fixed, land-based location in select areas. The Residential service plan includes an unlimited amount of Residential data. With the Starlink Residential Service Plan, there are no data caps and no speed caps. Speeds should range from 100-270 Mbps. Typical upload speeds should range from 10 – 25 Mbps.
A residential plan costs $120 per month, and a 12-month service signup is required to get the free kit. When you get to the order page, be sure to click the tab for the Free Standard Kit to get the deal.
Note that if you cancel after your 30-day trial and before 12 months of service, change your service address or plan, or transfer your Kit, you will be charged a $325 Change Fee.
