This year’s One Piece Day, the annual event in Tokyo, Japan celebrating the debut of Eiichiro Oda’s manga series, came with some big reveals for Netflix’s live-action show.

A collection of One Piece season 2 first-look photos and a teaser trailer dropped, showcasing Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy and the other Straw Hats, as well as the first true looks at some of the new season 2 characters.

Those include Lera Abova (Honey Don’t!) as Miss All-Sunday, Charithra Chandran (Bridgerton) as Miss Wednesday, Callum Kerr (Monarch) as Captain Smoker, and Brendan Murray (Raised by Wolves) as Brogy.

The teaser finishes with the other major update, which is that One Piece received a very early season 3 renewal. Before season 2 premieres on Netflix in 2026, production on the show’s third go will commence in South Africa’s Cape Town later this year.

There will also be a bit of a changeup in season 3. While Matt Owens and Joe Tracz served as co-showrunners, writers, and executive producers for season 2, Tracz will now hold those positions with Ian Stokes for the following season.

Owens announced earlier this year that he’d step back from the series “to take a break and focus on myself and my mental health.”

In One Piece season 2, “Luffy and the Straw Hats set sail for the extraordinary Grand Line — a legendary stretch of sea where danger and wonder await at every turn,” the official description reads. “As they journey through this unpredictable realm in search of the world’s greatest treasure, they’ll encounter bizarre islands and a host of formidable new enemies.”

“Everything I’ve done, everywhere I go is for the One Piece,” Godoy’s Luffy says in the teaser.

Returning to the high seas in the season 2 reveal are also Emily Rudd as Nami, Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, Taz Skylar as Sanji, and Jacob Romero as Usopp. A premiere date has not been announced.

Earlier this year for Netflix’s Tudum event, the streamer showed Tony Tony Chopper for the first time. Mikaela Hoover voices the reindeer-boy hybrid. “What excited me about playing Chopper is the tug of war between his standoffishness and his huge heart,” Hoover said. “He tries so hard to hide his emotions and put on a tough exterior, but underneath, he’s a big softy, and his love can’t help but come out.”
