One of golf’s four majors has found a streaming home until 2032 after it was announced that the United States Golf Association (USGA) has extended its deal with NBCUniversal until 2032. As part of the new deal, the United States Open Championship (U.S. Open), Peacock will continue simulstreaming all USGA programming.
With the extension, NBC will continue to be the exclusive broadcast home of top tournaments: U.S. Open, U.S. Women’s Open, and U.S. Senior Open. The network will air a minimum of 25 hours of coverage, including prime time coverage each year.
As part of the new agreement, Versant, the spinoff company of NBCU’s linear channels, has also acquired rights to USGA programming through 2032. The independent spinoff company will host USGA championships across the Golf Channel and USA Network.
Coverage for the U.S. Open and U.S. Women’s Open will air on USA Network in addition to NBC and Peacock. Golf Channel will air a slew of USGA events: U.S. Senior Open, U.S. Senior Women’s Open, U.S. Amateur, U.S. Women’s Amateur, U.S. Junior Amateur, U.S. Girls’ Junior, U.S. Adaptive Open, Walker Cup and Curtis Cup.
“We’re incredibly proud of the partnership we’ve built over the years with NBCU and VERSANT, and we’re equally excited to continue building on that legacy through our shared passion and dedication – alongside people we’re proud to call our friends,” said USGA CEO Mike Whan. “The value NBCU and VERSANT place on the USGA brand is evident, and this agreement enables the USGA to further advance our mission to positively impact the game, while providing the most expansive coverage and broadest reach to showcase USGA championships.”
NBCUniversal has held rights to USGA events for 26 of the last 30 years. The company aired the events for two decades straight from 1995 to 2014 and regained the rights in 2020. The latest extension with the USGA begins in 2027, after the conclusion of the current deal in 2026.
