The Devil Wears Prada 2 – fake Met Gala looks16 Images

By the time The Devil Wears Prada 2 comes out in May 2026, we won’t need to go and see it – we would’ve caught the whole thing via Getty Images instead. This weekend was a testament to that, when images from a very Met Gala-looking scene dropped across socials, attended by actors from the movie, plus some real life celebs. To be fair to the paps, it wasn’t done surreptitiously – the crew took over the outside facade of The Museum of Natural History for Runway magazine’s ‘Spring Florals’ gala, just across the park from the actual Met museum. As we’re not any less impatient than the rest of you, we’ve rounded up all the looks from the DWP fake Met Gala below – scroll down for the official ranking.

US model Ashley Graham is a Met Gala vet at this point, having been invited a total of six times. If I’m not mistaken, her DWP2 look is a Christian Siriano SS24 dress with some sort of large ruff stapled to the side.

90s icon Alek Wek is next up, and originally I thought this was Tomo Koizumi because of the big shoulder puffs, but on further inspection it looks like it’s actually a Christian Siriano AW25 mini dress with a sheer hoop skirt added underneath. Not another one!

Dutch model Bregje Heinen was also spotted hanging out on the steps of the fake Met this weekend. This one’s quite a hard guess, but I’m thinking this look could be any one of the current Parisian couturiers, like Elie Saab, Stéphane Rolland, Peet Dullaert, etc.

Much like the actual Met, Runway magazine’s fictional gala is a complete model fest, and Czech icon Karolina Kurková also got the call. With its wavy lines and shifting shape, I did initially mistake this dress for Iris Van Herpen, but it’s actually Stéphane Rolland SS25 couture.

Taking things up a notch in our top four, singer Ciara was also papped at the fake Met in a glittering column and protruding corset over the top. The look is an archive pick, from Jean Paul Gaultier’s AW10 couture runway. We see you, C.

It wouldn’t be the Met Gala without scrolling through a red carpet gallery the next morning and saying, “who??” On your right, random women #1 seems to be wearing a very similar silhouette to Simone Rocha’s SS24 Gaultier couture collab, however there’s no correlating dress in the collection, therefore this is unverified fake news. On the other hand, what we do have is an exact match for random woman #2 in the back, who’s wearing archival Yves Saint Laurent from AW06.

The official synopsis for the film suggests that Miranda Priestly is struggling to maintain her career during the decline of print media – but it looks like, by the time of the Runway gala, she’s back as the belle of the ball. Nothing’s been confirmed, but if I was a betting man I’d say this blood red ball gown is Giambattista Valli, Vivienne Westwood or Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda. Mirand is (almost) back on top.

The streets are saying that Simone Ashley could be playing Miranda Priestly’s new assistant, as the actor was added to the cast in July, but with no official role revealed. If that’s true, then The Devil herself won’t be happy – Ashley pipped her to the post in this standout Jean Paul Gaultier couture creation from the AW10 archive.
