YouTube TV, a leading streaming service for cord-cutters, has announced a significant expansion of its local channel lineup, adding several new CW affiliates across the United States. This move enhances the platform’s commitment to delivering regional content to its subscribers, offering access to local news, sports, and entertainment. Among the newly added stations are WVIR-DT3 (Charlottesville, VA), KLCW (Lubbock, TX), KTEN-DT2 (Ada, OK), KCWT (La Crosse, WI), WLFI-DT2 (Lafayette, IN), and WJBF-DT3 (Augusta, GA). This was spotted by a recednt Reddit post. This expansion builds on YouTube TV’s ongoing efforts to broaden its local offerings, following a 2023 deal with Nexstar Media Group that brought nearly 60 CW stations to the platform.

WVIR-DT3, a CW affiliate in Charlottesville, Virginia, is set to launch on YouTube TV by the end of July 2025. Operated by Gray Television, this station serves the Charlottesville market with a mix of CW’s popular primetime programming, including dramas like All American and Walker, alongside local news and community-focused content. The addition of WVIR-DT3 ensures that viewers in central Virginia can enjoy both national and regional programming tailored to their area.

KLCW, broadcasting from Lubbock, Texas, is another CW affiliate joining the YouTube TV roster. This station delivers a blend of entertainment, sports, and local news relevant to the West Texas region. Known for its coverage of high school sports and community events, KLCW strengthens YouTube TV’s appeal to viewers seeking hyper-local content.

KTEN-DT2, based in Ada, Oklahoma, is a CW subchannel that complements its parent station’s NBC affiliation. It offers CW’s signature lineup of youthful, engaging shows, alongside regional news and weather updates, catering to viewers in southern Oklahoma and parts of northern Texas.

In La Crosse, Wisconsin, KCWT brings CW programming to the Coulee Region. Operated as a CW affiliate, KCWT provides a mix of entertainment and local content, including coverage of regional events and news, enhancing YouTube TV’s footprint in the Midwest.

WLFI-DT2, a CW subchannel in Lafayette, Indiana, serves the Greater Lafayette area with CW’s entertainment slate and local programming. This station, owned by Heartland Media, is known for its community engagement and regional sports coverage.

This expansion reflects YouTube TV’s strategy to compete with traditional cable providers by offering over 130 channels, including a robust selection of local affiliates. Subscribers can access these channels through YouTube TV’s cloud DVR feature, which offers unlimited storage, and stream on multiple devices. The addition of these stations underscores YouTube TV’s commitment to delivering personalized, region-specific content to its growing subscriber base.
